Matthew Loudon '18 Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Matthew Loudon ‘18 was born on October 14, 1999, and lived in Olney his entire life. He attended St. John’s Episcopal School kindergarten through eighth grade and then attended Good Counsel. Matthew was a Real Estate agent at Keller Williams Realty in Frederick, MD. Matthew enjoyed playing video games, hanging out with his friends whenever he got the chance, playing ice hockey, snowboarding, and spending time fishing. He was considered a best friend to many that knew him well and he always put his friend’s needs before his own. He also loved to spend time with family when he could. Matthew will always be remembered for his big smile and his big heart. Matthew met some of his lifelong friends during his time at GC and was always proud of being a Falcon. His favorite part of attending GC was playing on the ice hockey team. He absolutely cherished being a part of the team and was so pleased to be the assistant coach in the 2019-20 season. His teammates and coaches were not just friends and mentors but more like family. He loved to go back and visit and always appreciated running into his teachers and counselor when out and about in the Olney area. The Matthew Loudon ‘18 Memorial Scholarship, established by Matthew’s friends and family, is awarded to a current GC student in good academic standing with demonstrated leadership and sportsmanship, with special consideration given to hockey players. The ideal candidate is a team player with evidence of a humble spirit with demonstrated financial need as determined through FACTS.
