Thomas R. Murphy Memorial Scholarship

Thomas R. Murphy was committed to Catholic education. He made tremendous sacrifices to send his five children to Catholic school including his two sons, Mike and Dick, to Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. Thomas’ son, Michael Murphy, was Our Lady of Good Counsel High School’s first lay person to serve as President in any Xaverian school. Established by Dr. Michael Murphy ’68, Richard “Dick” Murphy ’65, and their siblings to honor their father Thomas R. Murphy, the Thomas R. Murphy Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a rising junior in good academic standing who participates in at least one extracurricular activities. Candidates should have demonstrated need as determined through FACTS.
