Tom Kolar

The Tom Kolar Memorial Endowed Scholarship was created by members of the Class of 1976 following Tom’s passing. Tom served the Good Counsel faculty for 53 years and inspired generations of Falcons. He began his career at Good Counsel in 1965. No teacher has served our community longer. Tom is revered as a mentor, educator, coach, and friend. His passion for history and his commitment to social justice were hallmarks of his teaching and central to who he was. For his work educating, enlightening, and inspiring generations of Falcons, Tom received the Theodore James Ryken Award in 2013. In 2015, he became the first recipient of an honorary diploma from Good Counsel.

Scholarship:

Established by friends, family, and former students and colleagues of the late Tom Kolar, this scholarship provides financial assistance to an academically sound, current Good Counsel student with demonstrated financial need. The student should demonstrate their commitment to Good Counsel through involvement in athletics, performing arts, service, or extracurricular activities.
