Olivia Peters '10

Olivia Peters '10

To celebrate the life and legacy of Olivia Peters ’10, the Olivia S. Peters Pediatric Therapy Foundation and Jeff and Kathy Peters are establishing the “Live Like Liv” endowed memorial scholarship for a rising junior or senior at Good Counsel with demonstrated financial need who has a heart for service to those with special needs. Olivia’s passion and sole focus in life was treating special needs and underprivileged children.

Olivia was a life-long Montgomery County, MD resident, who after graduating from Good Counsel in 2010 went on to attend the University of South Carolina ’14 and Shenandoah University where she earned her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2018. Recently, Olivia started OT practices in Las Vegas, NV and in Manhattan, New York. Liv loved her time at Good Counsel, and her senior yearbook quote was by Henry David Thoreau “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”

Launching the scholarship honoring Liv is one of the first initiatives of the Olivia S. Peters Pediatric Therapy Foundation, which was established following her tragic death in December 2021 to continue her vision and life’s work of helping any child with special needs reach their full potential using evidence-based practice in fun and engaging life activities. Olivia envisioned using natural settings like local parks, playgrounds, and sports courts to create collaborative environments across multiple disciplines to maximize children’s continual growth.

Your support of the Live Like Liv scholarship will allow other Good Counsel students who share Liv’s dream to continue her vision.
