Caitlyn "Katie" O'Bannon Fitzgerald '00

Her friends and family established this endowed scholarship, in loving memory of Katie Fitzgerald ’00. The scholarship provides financial assistance to a current Good Counsel student who exhibits Katie’s love for life and commitment to excellence.

In her 19 years, Caitlyn Fitzgerald, a.k.a. “Katie Fitz,” touched the lives of many with her tenacious spirit and her generous heart. Being one of six children, Katie learned many sports at an early age. She found joy in activities such as soccer, basketball, track, tennis, and even football. With the help of her father and two older brothers, Katie quickly developed into a tomboy and could often be found in the weight room. She learned to play with high capability, a little attitude, and a lot of intensity. However, she also displayed amazing grace and distinctive poise in every athletic event in which she participated. Many miss Katie’s prowess and character, but her smile remains in our hearts.
